What to say about Spintria? :D
Spintria were bronze coins struck in 1st century Rome. While colloquially we refer to them as "brothel tokens", there is actually little evidence that that is what they were used for. Other numismatists speculate that they were gaming pieces, while others believed they were locker tokens.
I personally think it's possible that they had no other purpose than what they are today: a fun and interesting novelty.
Another debate about Spintria is whether the erotic scenes depict homosexual male couples or hetero ones. This, for sure, is each viewer's inkblot test.
I have complemented this Spintria replica with a rare vintage hand-carved coral rose. Pink roses are symbolic of appreciation and gratitude.
Spintria coin is silverplated bronze. Ring contains bezels of fine silver with embellishments and shank of sterling silver. Backplate is lacquered copper. This ring is adjustable size, though better suited for fingers below size 8.5, as the open band design may be weaker when opened too wide.
