These rare coins are from the British Mandate period of Palestine. They were first minted in 1927, and production of the coins stopped in 1946, two years before the tragedy of the Nakba. To preserve the coins' historical significance, I opted to not bend or solder them, but instead I created a fine silver bezel for each so that they can be worn and cherished for generations. Each piece is made with a combination of sterling silver, fine silver and copper, with the coin itself made of lovely bronze. I have lacquered all copper and bronze areas to protect the shine and prevent oxidization.
The full sale price of each purchase, including any tip added, will go directly to the GoFundMe or PayPal of one of several families in Gaza that I have been communicating with, who desperately need funds both to hopefully get to the safety of Egypt and simply for day-to-day necessities like food, clean water, new tents, bedding, hygiene products, etc. I will do my best to follow up each purchase with an email of your donation receipt and the info of the family donated to.
Thank you so much!!
