Recognizing that it was a rare, collectable silver piece, I decided to release it from its setting and build it a new bolo tie home that is more worthy of its coolness. Differing from traditional hand repousse techniques, pop-outs were die-struck - sometimes with 10,000 to 20,000 pounds of force. This mechanical process was first patented in the United States in 1902. This particular coin features Lady Liberty “popping out” of a silver 1964 JFK half-dollar.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eI added a turquoise cabochon and my handmade silver leaves and a flower. I put the centerpiece on a genuine leather cord, and finished the bolo by creating tips out of an antique engraved napkin ring.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThis piece is a real conversation starter, is unisex and goes great with so many outfits.
